Local residential adult sponsored residential home facility seeking potential candidates to work directly with (1) individual diagnosed with developmental disabilities. If hired, you will directly participate in assisting (1) person in the home by encouraging the individual to develop their skills and be as independent as possible. Each day that you are present, you will be assisting with personal care, household chores, administration of medication, meal preparation (if needed), while also providing social interaction, and companionship in a home environment. You will also contribute to assisting the individual with going into the community to do fun things if applicable.
Potential candidates should have knowledge of intellectual/ developmental disability and mental illness. Must be able to distinguish between the two to ensure accurate services are provided. Have knowledge of the Medicaid Waiver Program. Have the ability to communicate effectively. Must have experience working with Intellectual Disability population in a home setting. A minimum of 6 months experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to serve those with intellectual disability and mental illness. Must have a valid Virginia driver's license with a good driving record.
If hired, this person should be current with required trainings, to include First Aid/CPR, Medication Administration, and CMRT however will provide training upon hire for the right candidate. Candidate must have flexible availability and be available weekends if needed. All trainings are paid for by employer, we are looking to hire the right candidate immediately. This would be great for someone who is looking for PRN work for extra money. Hours offered would be at least 10 -15 weekly.
This position start between $15-$19 depending on experience. You will get paid each shift before you leave for the day.
