IMMEDIATE HIRING COUNTERTOPS ESTIMATOR FOR A REPUTABLE COUNTERTOPS FIRM
METRO-DC-VA AREA // WORKING ON-SITE & SHOWROOM-WAREHOUSE
Job Brief:
"Measure twice and cut once."
We are looking for an experienced professional to join our Template team. The position requires you to visit our customer's homes/job sites mostly in Virginia & DC, and South Maryland to measure cabinets and create a digital and/or cardboard template of the kitchen and bathroom countertops, fireplace surroundings, and other solid surfaces based on the projects. For the Laser templates, Estimator may need to use our hi-tech laser measuring device and the template printer.
This position is a critical part of our process. The quality of the template information sets the stage for the customer's experience and directly impacts the company's profitability.
Excellent trade skills and attention to every detail make a strong Template. Experience with measuring, estimating, using CAD, or with architectural mill-work are important qualities as well.
Responsibilities:
- Make the customer happy and support your co-workers.
- Travel to customer job sites and arrive within the scheduled appointment window while being sure to communicate, in advance, when running early or late.
- We provide a vehicle+gas for business-use only, a cell phone and an Ipad
- Collect all the information needed on a job site that is required for us to fabricate and install granite/marble/quartz countertops.
- Coordinate with customers and contractors on-site and communicate relevant job information as needed.
- Accurately interpret and document job information via digital and paper media.
- Double and triple check all information to ensure near-perfect accuracy. "Measure twice and cut once."
- Regularly communicate with Customer Service throughout the day regarding your progress, job site conditions, and issues that arise.
- Perform minor service calls, as needed.
- Short Training for the position will be provided.
- Occasionally assist with job site controls, as needed.
Requirements:
- The applicant must have a positive attitude, a dedicated work ethic, and always be friendly, cheerful, and composed.
- Always display a neat, clean, and professional appearance.
- Experience in the building trades or other disciplines requiring extensive measuring and accurate, quality workmanship.
- Ability to read architectural drawings and schematics, including details and elevations.
- A trade school, college or university degree is a plus but not required.
- Candidate must be very detail-oriented and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- The applicant must be comfortable using computers.
- Ability to work independently.
- Experience with CAD is a plus and required.
- Clean criminal background and a valid driver's license with reliable transportation are required.
- There is some physical work required that will include handling measurement tools, stone samples, sinks, faucets, other packages, etc. The applicant must be able to independently lift 80 lbs from floor to chest height on a regular basis throughout the day, as needed.
Benefits Include:
- Long-term, Full-time, year-round employment.
- Hourly payment, 6 days of working. (Mon-Sat)
- The schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5 pm, or plus as needed to meet customer demand during busy times.
- There is Saturday work (9 am to 3 pm) at Showroom required.
