Baker/Generalist for Growing Wholesale Bakery

Vacancy expired!

Hi Guys,

Thanks for reading our post!

Who we are:

We're a growing brand of specialty snack products. Our products are sold in about 22 locations across VA, MD and DC. We've just signed on with a distributor and are knocking on the door of a couple of major retailers. We're trying to grow at a pace that keeps quality at the top of our list of priorities. Are we there yet? No, but we're on our way!

We understand the difference between a career and a job. Want to stay a baker? No problem! Want to take over the kitchen with a bunch of assistants and other staff reporting into you? We'll work towards that too. Grow with us!

What you would be doing:

Ensuring our products are of the highest quality on the market

Baking our products on a weekly schedule (what we bake may change week to week depending on market demand)

Keeping tabs on ingredients and supplies

Enjoying using the kitchen as your own lab to create new and/or refine existing products

Looking for new ways of being efficient

Others on an as-needed basis

As a small business, we need to wear multiple hats. Cutting/packaging is a critical part of this job.

Who you are:

Independent - We're tiny right now and we need somebody that we can depend on to help us fulfill orders

Friendly - Culture matters and as we're growing, we'll need people who can get along with others.

Flexible - We're still pretty small. While there will be weeks where we're super busy, there will be other weeks where we may be light. We'll do our best to keep it as even as possible, but things will happen.

Proud - We want people who take pride in their job. We don't want people who are just in it for a paycheck.

Hard working - No small business can grow without hard working help. While we haven't been able to do it as much as we'd like, we have provided bonuses in the past No promises on our being able to do it in the future, but we do value hard work & loyalty.

To put it simply, we're looking for a lot. Ideally, you also have 2-3 years of baking experience and are looking for a way to turn a part-time position into a career. This person would need to be flexible with their hours expectation initially as we ramp sales back up. We want someone who is relatively independent and both eager to learn and eager to teach.

Does this sound like you? Does the company sound like one you would be interested in working for? Shoot us a note! Send us your work experience, references and your salary/hours expectation NOW!
