Our company is looking for Farm Hands for our Staunton VA farm. It is important to the company that we are ecologically conscious. To work on this farm you must be able to life 60-80 lbs. (as feed bags are about 50 lbs. and this is done daily) and would help to be in good physical shape.
Farm Hand responsibilities will include:
-operating heavy machinery (tractors etc.)
-Operating chainsaws/ other smaller machinery
- feeding and marinating livestock
-moving livestock
-Rotational Grazing
-Watering crops/ tilling
-General maintenance of land/ fencing
Other skills that would be helpful:
-welding experience
- fencing experience
-Livestock experience
- knowledge of cow milking
- previous experience on an Organic farm
