The Pet Resort at Greensprings management team hires Kennel Attendants to provide personal care for and to attend to the needs of our animals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Cleaning the kennels and/or cat condos and disinfecting them, using various OSHA approved chemicals
Preparing diet charts for the animals, feeding them, and disposing of left over and uneaten food
Providing animals with clean water throughout the work day
Maintaining basic hygiene of the animals; this may include bathing, brushing, ear cleaning and/or nail trimming upon owner request
Supervising play time in outdoor yards and/or daycare room
Collecting and disposing of animal waste
Washing dishes and cleaning linens as needed
Skills Required:
Should be mentally, emotionally and physically stable and have patience to deal with all types of canine and feline breeds
Should have basic understanding of animal handling and care
Ability to work with others and handle all assigned responsibilities with little supervision
Sound understanding of the hygiene to be maintained and ability to identify health issues with the animals
Possess knowledge of vaccinations required to board at the facility
Ability to supervise animals at play and work for prolonged hours
Educational and Availability Requirements:
Must have a High School education
Relevant prior work experience preferred
Must be available weekdays and weekends 7 AM 6 PM EST; some holiday shifts are required unless vacation hours are approved ahead of time
