Food safety: Cooks comply with nutrition and sanitation guidelines and check the quality of ingredients.
Inventory management: Cooks monitor inventory and place orders when needed. They may also have connections with farms or suppliers to ensure fresh ingredients.
Presentation: Cooks ensure dishes are attractive and appetizing, and dress them before serving.
Communication: Cooks may liaise with nursing staff and management.
Training: Cooks may train kitchen staff or apprentices.
