Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide direct care and supervision to individuals to ensure their health, safety, and well-being at all times.
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) including, but not limited to, bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, diaper changing, and other personal hygiene needs.
Support individuals in developing and maintaining independence, social skills, and positive community interactions.
Implement individualized service plans, behavior support plans, and health care plans as directed.
Encourage participation in community activities, recreational outings, and skill-building opportunities.
Accurately document daily activities, progress notes, incident reports, and any changes in condition or behavior.
Monitor for and promptly report any signs of illness, injury, or unusual behavior to the supervisor.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment, including assistance with housekeeping, laundry, and meal preparation.
Administer medications (if certified and assigned) and follow all medical protocols.
Respond appropriately to behavioral or medical emergencies following company policy and DBHDS regulations.
Uphold all privacy, dignity, and respect standards for individuals served.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
Experience working with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Ability to lift, transfer, and provide physical support as needed (including diaper changes and personal hygiene assistance).
Strong interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.
Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record (if transporting individuals).
Ability to pass all required background checks, TB testing, and drug screening.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Ability to stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs, and provide physical assistance to individuals.
Work may involve exposure to behavioral challenges that require patience and appropriate intervention.
Schedule
Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
