Need position filled ASAP.
Assist Individuals with their daily living, provide safety and comfort. Provide assistance to people with basic tasks such as bathing, dressing, grooming, taking medication and eating. Help with home management tasks such as preparing meals, grocery shopping, cooking meals, handling laundry, and noticing any change in health condition. Direct Care Aide will assist in making and keeping Dr.'s appointments and provide or arrange transportation. Experience supporting individuals with Mental Health preferred (i.e. bipolar, schizophrenia etc. )
Schedule is Mon. & Tues 3pm to 11pm and every other weekend Fri 3pm to 11pm and Sat/Sun 11am to 11pm.
Job Skills and Requirements.
Minimum High School Diploma
First Aide and CPR Certified (Will Certify Hired Candidates)
Pass A Background Check
Reliable Transportation
One Year Experience Preferred.
Empathy: Clients may be frail, impaired, in pain and need help. Being sympathetic to their needs and understanding is necessary.
Attention to Detail: Some clients have specific rules or schedules that must be minded or specific dietary or physical rules that must be followed.
Interpersonal Skills: Personal Care assistants work in a very personal way with their clients. Some may be in pain or very sensitive to their fragility. Must be sensitive and compassionate with clients.
Stamina: May need to lift clients into the bathtub, cars and into bed and need strength.
Time Management: Direct Care Aide are schedule keepers. They have to be there to make sure clients get up on time, make sure medication is taken on schedule and clients get to appointments on time.
Self Directing: Ability to work with little supervision.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
