Medical Billing Specialist

Hope Care & Love Home Healthcare Services is seeking to hire a Medical Billing Specialist for our Hampton Roads location.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Preparing, reviewing, and transmitting claims using billing software, including electronic and paper claim processing.

Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe.

Resolving insurance company payment discrepancies.

Overseeing and ensuring collection of accounts receivables.

Preparing and submitting company billing reports.

Follow proper medical and insurance claim submission and collection processes relating to skilled and long-term care services.

Responding to denials and requests for additional information from third party companies.

Processing transactions in accordance with contractual terms and complex regulations governing Private Pay, Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial Insurance and Managed Care.

Maintaining confidentiality; adhering to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations.

Payroll data entry

Required Experience:

A minimum two (2) years of experience in third party billing practices and procedures.

2 years’ experience in Medicare/Medicaid home health insurance billing.

Significant knowledge in accounts receivable, medical terminology, ICD-10, private and government insurance reimbursement (Medicare and Medicaid).

Knowledge:

Must be comfortable with the processing of confidential financial information.

Must have a high degree of attention to detail and trustworthiness.

Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English with fluency.

Must possess good communication skills.

Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.

Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with other personnel.

Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures, etc., that are necessary for providing sound accounting techniques.

Must be able to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.

Outstanding organizational and time management skills.

Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving.

Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office (primarily Excel)
