Job Summary:
We seek a reliable and dedicated Overnight Attendant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the landfill operations during the night, ensuring the site remains secure, and assisting with basic operational tasks. This position is essential for maintaining the safety, security, and cleanliness of the landfill during non-business hours.
Key Responsibilities:
Security and Monitoring:
o Conduct regular patrols of the landfill to deter trespassing, vandalism, and unauthorized dumping.
o Monitor surveillance cameras and alarms, and respond promptly to any suspicious activity or security breaches.
o Ensure all gates and access points are secure.
Operational Support:
o Assist with the receipt and proper placement of waste materials, ensuring adherence to landfill regulations.
o Operate basic landfill equipment as needed (training will be provided).
o Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and facilities.
Health and Safety Compliance:
o Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
o Report any hazards, incidents, or injuries immediately to the supervisor.
Record Keeping:
o Maintain accurate logs of nightly activities, including security checks, equipment usage, and any incidents.
o Complete and submit required reports at the end of each shift.
Customer Service:
o Assist late-night haulers and customers with their needs, providing directions and ensuring compliance with landfill policies.
o Address any customer concerns or issues in a professional manner.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in security, waste management, or a related field preferred.
Ability to work independently and make decisions with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with the public professionally.
Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, including walking, standing, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
