VersAbility Resources is currently seeking a motivated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian at Yorktown Naval Weapons Station. This role will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of various facilities, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for both employees and visitors. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, demonstrate good time management skills, and possess a strong work ethic.The Custodian position participates in theAbility One program; allowing individuals with significant disabilities to work in various positions within our Government Contracted positions.Benefits:401kAbility to have Medical and Dental$4.41 health and welfare benefitResponsibilities:- Perform general cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming floors, carpets, and furniture.- Clean and disinfect restrooms and replenish supplies as needed.- Empty trash receptacles and sort recycling materials appropriately.- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring cleaning supplies and equipment are properly stored.- Perform minor preventative maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing leaky faucets, and repairing broken fixtures.- Follow established procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage or injuries.- Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor promptly.- Assist in setting up and breaking down equipment and furniture for meetings, events, or other functions as required.- Notify management of any safety hazards, security incidents, or any other emergencies in a timely manner.- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and policies.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent preferredProven experience as a custodian, janitor, or similar role is desirable not requiredAbility to pass a military background screen to obtain base access required.Ability to lift heavy objects, stand, walk, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Strong attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality service.Ability to work independently with little supervision and as part of a team.Good verbal communication skills.Transportation to access baseValid drivers license preferredJoin our dedicated team, and help us maintain a clean and safe environment for our employees and guests.
