POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for the academic and administrative functions relating to providing instructional training to students in the specific program offered. The Combination Welding Instructor is accountable for ensuring students receive quality education through effective in class instruction, hands-on training, and up-to-date learning materials and resources.
Work Schedule
Day Shift: 7:30am- 4:30pm or Evening Shift: 2:30pm-10:30pm
JOB FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach classes as assigned on a regular, scheduled basis as assigned and create a welcoming environment for students conducive to learning.
Assist Program Coordinator, Campus Director of Education, or Campus Executive Director in developing curriculum, preparing course materials, and scheduling.
Establish and maintain academic and attendance records for student files.
Maintain a neat and orderly classroom and lab.
Submit attendance, grades, student evaluation and all other required documents/reports per established procedures.
Notify Supervisor of any potential issues that may require immediate attention.
Actively utilize proven retention techniques approved by the school.
Complete performance-based teacher education modules as assigned by Supervisor and/or campus management, as needed based on outcomes of classroom observations, instructor evaluations, and student-completed surveys.
Assist with the department equipment and supplies inventory and submit purchase requests accordingly and as needed.
Assist with the maintenance and utilization of equipment used in the program.
Attend and/or conduct in‐service training, faculty meetings or other mandatory meetings.
Alert Supervisor on student absences, especially on first, third and fifth absence occurrences.
Perform other tasks that may be assigned by Supervisor.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
Must possess at a minimum a High School Diploma or GED.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven, compliance-oriented educational environment.
Detail-oriented, analytical, highly organized, and have the ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
Demonstrate a high level of integrity, strong work ethic, and professionalism.
Persuasive and effective verbal and written communication skills, with a strong focus on customer service in an educational setting.
Highly motivated and goal-oriented, with strong problem-solving skills.
Must be able to work independently and as collaborative team member and have exceptional interpersonal skills.
Excellent computer skills are required with proficiency in MS Office applications including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, and Teams. CampusNexus experience a plus.
Ability and willingness to work outside of regular work shifts, including evenings and/or weekends as necessary or as requested by Supervisor.
Ability and willingness to travel locally or overnight for business purposes.
CERTIFICATION
American Welding Society (AWS) certification within the first six (6) months of employment.
