Description We are seeking a Payroll and AP Administrator to join our team in the Healthcare/NHS industry based in Portsmouth, Virginia. This role primarily involves managing accounts payable, vendor payments, and payroll processing. The Payroll and AP Administrator will be instrumental in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring smooth financial operations within the organization.Responsibilities: Oversee the accounts payable and vendor records, ensuring payments are made on a weekly basis. Regularly match purchase orders with invoices, confirm pricing, and input invoices into the system. Contribute to financial reporting processes by preparing various reports related to accounts payable and payroll. Provide assistance in maintaining the general ledger, including performing tasks such as journal entries, account reconciliation, and reviewing transaction reports. Participate in monthly closings and support internal and external audits by providing necessary records and reports. Responsible for preparing and processing payroll, ensuring accuracy with deductions, and compliance with federal payroll laws. Handle wage garnishments, direct deposits, and respond to vendor and employee inquiries regarding payments, discrepancies, and payroll-related issues. Collaborate with other departments such as Human Resources to streamline processes and address issues efficiently. Contribute to special projects and work independently to meet deadlines. Utilize accounting software systems and ADP Workforce Now to perform accounting functions and administer 401k - RRSP.Interested candidates please contact Tamara Young 757-981-0974Requirements Minimum of 2 years experience in a Payroll and AP Administrator role or similar Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now Knowledge of 401k - RRSP Administration Understanding of Accounting Functions and Auditing Experience with Benefit Functions and Payroll - Garnishments Must be adept in handling Accounts Payable (AP) Proficiency in creating Journal Entries Experience in Account Reconciliation and Accruals Familiarity with Monthly Accruals Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities Ability to handle confidential information with discretion Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
