More About the Role:
Leidos is seeking a Systems Engineer to support related efforts for SMIT, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), Leidos team will deliver provide cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support engineering activities related to systems integration for ONE-NET.

What You'll Get to Do:
The Systems Engineer will participate in activities for systems integration for ONE-NET associated with technical planning, system design, development and integration, verification and validation, and fielding. The Systems Engineer will evaluate the risks, supportability and system analyses for the related system integration efforts.

Other duties include:
•Participate in the technical planning, design, development, and integration activities related to the project.
•Engineer a System Security Assessment (SSAD) document from Program of Record (POR) provided artifacts and submit to Naval Authorizing Official for concurrence.
•Engineer network data flow diagrams from POR provided artifacts for inclusion on SSAD.
•Engineer System Integration Guides for Theatre of Networks Operations Security Centers (TNOSC's) in Japan, Italy and Bahrain.
•Integrate security concepts, controls, and mechanisms through the creation of HBSS STIG security policies.
•Create a Plan of Actions and Milestones (POA&M) for each assigned project and manage the POA&M through project completion.
•Review Statement of Objectives (SOOs) for new projects and contribute to estimates for the Basis of Estimates (BOEs).
•Collaborate with external customers, management, subcontractors, vendors, and other engineering disciplines through various forums such as In-Briefs and Kick-off meetings.
•Comply with ITSM processes and procedures as applicable.
•Comply with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) governance and use MBSE tools as applicable.
•Comply with Cybersecurity requirements within the DoDI 8500.01 and DON 5239.
•Support the development and maintenance of processes, checklists, and procedures.

You'll Bring These Qualifications:
•Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
•Four (4) or more years' experience on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
•Must be a U.S. Citizen and possess an active Secret clearance to start the program.
•Hands-on experience in working with DoD networks.
•Ability to multi-task, self-assign work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
•Motivated self-starter with ability to lead and work in a matrix organization and communicate effectively with peers, subordinates and program leadership.
•Strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills that enable proactive and effective collaboration with a virtual team, including the ability to clearly articulate status and present to both customers and program leadership.
•Technical knowledge and skills in areas such as HBSS.
•Travel may be required.
•Hold or obtain applicable certification to meet DoD 8570 requirements for IAT-2 or IAT-3.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
•Previous work associated to ONE-NET.
•Experience working in large information technology enterprise environments.
•Experience in collaborating with other enterprise technologists both internal and external to resolve complex technical issues.
•Experience working on DoD programs, specifically Navy programs.
•Experience developing SE artifacts in multiple systems development paradigms and methodologies.
•Certifications:
-INCOSE CSEP
-ITIL
