Taco Vegana is hiring a reliable, motivated, and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team in Church Hill. Taco Vegana is a new 100% plant-based Mexican restaurant located in the Church Hill neighborhood of Richmond. The Kitchen Manager is responsible for overseeing all Back of House operations, including but not limited to purchasing, receiving, preparing, and presenting all food products in a timely manner, according to established recipes and procedures. We are a new restaurant so we are looking for someone passionate about helping to build from the ground up. Must have previous Kitchen Manager/Chef experience and excellent communication skills, experience in Mexican restaurants is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Oversee inventory, order product and supplies, ensure routine maintenance and upkeep of equipment
Collaborate with the Owner/Executive Chef in creating menus and daily specials
Study recipes and adapt them to meet quality standards
Provide a safe, sanitary, and appetizing food service environment
Hires, trains, schedules, and manages kitchen staff
Maintains the cleanliness of the kitchen area and ensures that it meets health code regulations
Provides a positive and efficient working environment for all kitchen staff
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience as a Kitchen Manager/Chef
Ability to manage and lead a team
Extensive culinary skills and knowledge
Ability to direct and maintain a safe and secure environment and operations
Experience working in Mexican restaurants is a plus
Experience working with vegan food is a plus
Food handler/Manager certification - ServSafe
Base Pay - $50K - $60K yr, based on experience.
