Group Home Relief Counselor
Group Home relief counselors are full-time and part-time staff that is responsible for assisting the House Manager in the direct care of the residents and in the group home operations. They provide supervision and direct care to residents of Pleasant View Residential Services and are responsible for implementing schedules and activities, role modeling appropriate behavior and engaging residents in productive interactions consistent with the treatment plan and philosophy of the program. Typical work activities can vary according to the needs of the home, but most duties are likely to include a range of the following:
Attends meetings as required
Prepares reports as requested by the house manager and or program director.
Attend staff training as required
Direct care supervision and activities of daily living
maintain confidentiality of information
other duties as assigned
Current openings. Full time or part-time available.
-Night shifts. 10p to 8am.
-Day shifts. 3pm to 10pm Monday to Thursday. Fridays 10pm to 9am.
- Saturday’s and Sunday’s are 12 hours shifts from 9 to 9 days or nights.
-Please note that full time staff must be available to work every other weekend. Weekend shifts are 9-9=12 hrs shifts.
Immediate Supervisor:
The Group Home Relief or Residential counselor shall report directly to the house manager and program director.
Job Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
Some experience in the field of social work is preferred but not required. Training can be provided through in-house and other outside agencies.
Must be able to climb stairs, walk, run, stand, use a computer, telephones, etc. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.
Required Training/Certification:
CPR/First Aid
Medication administration
Behavior management (TOVA, CPI or Crisis wave)
Must be able to Pass:
Criminal background check
Registry check
Tuberculosis test
Current Benefits.
Current rate is between $14 - 18 per hour. Full time staff get paid more
Full time employee may earn up to 40 hours of paid time off in one year. Staff must be employed for at least 6 months and in good standing before staff can be legible for any partial vacation/sick hours.
Time and half pay for working overtime and on any of the selected holidays. (JULY 4TH, THANKSGIVING AND CHRISTMAS).
