Phillip C. Zaun,DDS has a well established of 30 years General Dental Practice located in Mechanicsville/Atlee, VA near Rt.301 and Shady Grove Road.
We are seeking a Registered Dental Hygienist needed to cover maternity leave starting December 2024 (exact dates TBD) Office hours are Monday thru Thursday 8am - 5pm with 1 hour lunch, possible some Fridays 8am - 1pm if candidate is interested. Willing to be flexible with available days.
This is an opportunity to work in a 1 doctor practice in a relaxed small team environment that is not corporate. We do not push care, we provide care. Hygienists usually have 1 patient scheduled per hour. The practice mainly centers on established patients for many years.

Office hours Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am-1pm
Duties:
- Perform dental hygiene procedures, including cleaning, scaling, and polishing teeth
- Take digital dental x-rays
- Assess patients' oral health and provide oral hygiene instructions
- Administer local anesthesia
- Familiar with Dentrix systems
- Follow infection control protocols to ensure a safe and clean environment
- Educate patients on proper oral care techniques and preventive measures
- Collaborate with the dental team to provide comprehensive patient care
Qualifications:
- Valid dental hygienist license in Virginia
- Associate's degree or higher in dental hygiene from an accredited program
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask effectively
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
- Commitment to continuing education and staying updated on industry advancements
