Position Summary
The Entry-Level Maintenance Assistant will help with light maintenance, repairs, and property upkeep. This is a great opportunity for a young person (16–24) who likes working with their hands and wants to learn real-world skills in construction, property maintenance, and housing.
Responsibilities
Assist with basic repairs (door handles, caulking, light fixtures, minor drywall patching, etc.)
Help with inside and outside upkeep: trash pickup, sweeping, minor yard work, cleaning common areas
Help with unit turns: basic cleaning, touch-up tasks when residents move in/out
Carry tools/supplies and support senior maintenance or contractors on small jobs
Report any safety or maintenance issues to supervisor ASAP
Follow all safety rules and respect residents, staff, and neighbors
Ideal Candidate (You don’t need experience—just the right attitude)
Age 16–24
Punctual, respectful, and willing to learn
Comfortable using basic tools (or willing to learn)
Can follow directions and work independently when needed
Able to lift up to 40 lbs occasionally
Reliable transportation to jobs around the Richmond–Petersburg area
No maintenance experience required; we will train
Schedule
Part-time, 15–25 hours per week
Flexible around school or other work for the right person
