Harvey L. Parks, Inc. Land Surveying, located in Chester, VA, is currently seeking a Full Time Instrument Operator.
This position will be working with a Land Surveyor or Party Chief assisting in construction staking, ALTA, boundary, topographic, and mortgage surveys. Possibility of advancement to Party Chief in the future.
Responsibilities:
Operate survey instruments such as total stations, data collectors, GPS, and other standard survey equipment to collect field data.
Interpret construction plans, perform necessary calculations in the field, and perform construction layout.
Prepare legible written field notes.
Ability to work in the outside elements of the field up to 100% of the time.
Required to remain standing for long periods of time during the day and walk long distances.
Set up, minor maintenance, and operation of all field survey equipment, vehicles, and supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Professional Certifications and Experience:
Associates, High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 1-2 years in surveying field preferred.
Prior Instrument Operator experience (preferred).
Compensation based on ability, efficiency and effort. Health insurance, paid holidays and paid time are included.
