We are seeking an experienced Abatement Worker to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to safely and effectively remove hazardous materials such as asbestos from buildings. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in asbestos abatement and positive references speaking to his/her quality of work. All applicants are required to have a current asbestos certification, current asbestos license in Virginia, current asbestos medical physical as well as a strong understanding of OSHA regulations.
Responsibilities:
Perform asbestos abatement tasks according to established protocols and safety guidelines including the removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials
Set up containment areas to prevent the spread of hazardous materials
Use appropriate tools and equipment to remove and dispose of hazardous materials
Follow proper procedures for handling, packaging, and transporting hazardous materials and all safety procedures to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
Clean and restore affected areas after abatement is complete
Use appropriate tools and equipment to complete assigned tasks effectively
Requirements:
Current asbestos certification valid in the state of Virginia
Current asbestos FIT test documentation
Current asbestos medical physical documentation
Must be able to pass drug test
Must be able to pass a background check
Must have steel toe boots
Must halve half mask
Must have Leather Gloves
Must have Hard Hat
Must have safety glasses
Previous experience in asbestos abatement
Familiarity with OSHA regulations related to hazardous material removal
Ability to use various tools and equipment safely and effectively
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
Physical stamina to perform manual labor tasks for extended periods of time
Ability to work independently or as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols
Proven track record of quality work and good communication
Previous experience in asbestos abatement
