Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in both residential and commercial painting, with a strong understanding of color theory and construction practices. This role involves preparing surfaces, applying paint, and ensuring high-quality finishes on various projects. The Painter will work closely with other tradespeople and must be comfortable reading blueprints and schematics.
Responsibilities
Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primer as needed.
Apply paint, varnishes, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and airless paint sprayers.
Perform plastering and caulking to ensure smooth surfaces before painting.
Execute restoration and renovation tasks as required on various projects.
Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while maintaining quality standards.
Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand project specifications.
Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively for various painting tasks.
Maintain a clean work environment, adhering to safety protocols on construction sites.
Assist in fixture installation and trim carpentry as needed during projects.
Qualifications
Proven experience in residential and commercial painting is essential.
Strong knowledge of color theory and construction estimating is preferred.
Familiarity with construction site practices and safety regulations is required.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
Experience with plastering, stucco application, masonry work, and concrete finishing is a plus.
Basic math skills for measuring areas accurately are necessary.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and maintenance tasks is desirable.
Previous maintenance person experience or skills in carpentry (frame carpentry or trim carpentry) will be beneficial.
