580Pottery is opening up three spots for potters to throw with us in our full-time studio.
Time in the studio is flexible—
Come in from 1 to 4 days a week, during the day or in the evening for 3-4+ hours, whatever fits your schedule.
This can be a full-time or part-time position, depending on your schedule.
This job is on a contractual 1099 basis.
Depending on skill and schedule, your position with 580Pottery can expand into other departments of our studio.
You’ll be hands-on in the production of not only our signature patented planters but also the production of any commissions we have—learning what it takes to throw consistently, refining your form, and meeting a real-world spec. It’s the kind of experience that sharpens your skills and builds confidence at the wheel, and puts money in your pocket for doing what you love.
Potters will need to have experience throwing pots, vases, and plates on an electric potter's wheel. You can bring your own tools, and we have tools available. You will only throw the pieces, and we'll assemble them and complete all the remaining steps.
You'll arrange your time with us, arrive, prepare your clay, throw your project, fill out a project sheet, clean up your area before leaving, check out, and then we'll pay per piece via your bank.
