The Custodial Supervisor also exemplifies and upholds the Facilities Department's mission which is to create and maintain an outstanding learning environment through constant attention to our community's needs and thoughtful care of our beautiful campus.JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:Advocates safety for everyone on campus by identifying, reporting and addressing when appropriateInteracts daily with diverse staff, students and faculty by providing a welcoming and positive atmospherePreserves the heritage and unique infrastructure of the University by striving to exceed industry cleanliness standardsResponsible for the care and upkeep of resources provided to them by the UniversityResponsible for scheduling assigned staff, managing time off requests and ensuring proper payMaintains accountability by leveraging defined operating procedures, University policies and utilizes the University's progressive discipline processSupervises and supports custodial related incident response, project work and special eventsInvests in the development of custodial staff by providing training, mentorship, feedback, growth opportunities and performance reviewsActively participates in developing operation initiatives and delivers department established communicationEncourages an inclusive and respectful work environmentSeeks out areas of opportunity, takes the initiative to address concerns and supervises the completion of custodial related requestsWORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:This is a full-time exempt position that must be available to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and evenings when needed.Must be able to lift, push and pull up to 50 poundsMust be able to stand for long periods of time, go up and down stairs and walk for long periodsMust be able to work outdoors under adverse weather conditions including heat, rain and snowAll Facilities employees are designated as essential personnel and are subject to work outside the normal work schedule on an emergency basis and are subject to planned overtime work as required by their immediate supervisor.Frequently required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to hazardous materialsQUALIFICATIONS:Minimum of a High School degree or educational equivalent requiredBachelor's Degree preferredFive or more years of demonstrated leadership experience in custodial or related fieldValid Driver's License with three year driving record in good standing requiredGeneral knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft OutlookAbility to effectively communicate with listed contacts aboveRequired: Must have a valid Driver's License and be able to produce a driving record with a minimum of 3 years of driving history in good standingWORK HOURS:Full-time, exempt positionPrimarily day shift (start time varies between 5am-8am), weekends occasionally; 8 hrs./day; 40 hrs./weekAll Facilities employees are designated as essential personnel and are subject to work outside the normal work schedule on an emergency basis and are also subject to planned overtime work as required by the immediate supervisor.SALARY STRUCTURE:Pay Grade 5 ($41,018 to $54,350 annually)
