Lastmile Enterprises Inc. is seeking a reliable and responsible delivery driver to join our team in Ashland, VA. As a delivery driver, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently transporting goods and packages to their designated locations. Your primary goal will be to ensure timely deliveries while providing exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities:
Safely operate a delivery vehicle, such as a van or truck, adhering to all traffic rules and regulations.
Load and unload packages and items from the vehicle in a secure and organized manner.
Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes to ensure timely deliveries.
Provide exceptional customer service by interacting with customers in a professional and friendly manner.
Verify and document package information, including any special instructions or delivery notes.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel usage, and any incidents or issues that occur during deliveries.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical problems or issues to the appropriate authorities.
Adhere to company policies and procedures, including safety guidelines and delivery protocols.
Requirements:
Valid driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle used for deliveries.
Clean driving record and the ability to meet all state and federal driving requirements.
Should be able to pass a drug and background check.
Excellent knowledge of local traffic patterns and the ability to plan efficient delivery routes.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Physical fitness to handle packages and perform lifting and carrying tasks. Ability to maneuver up to 150 lbs and physically lift up to 50 lbs is desirable.
Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Flexibility to work on weekends, holidays, and potentially in varying weather conditions.
