Description We are in the process of recruiting a Staff Accountant to join our team in the Martinsville/Ridgeway, Virginia area. This role is integral to our company's operations, encompassing tasks such as assisting with monthly closings, maintaining cash flow analysis and forecasts, and preparing audit schedules. This position requires a strong understanding of financial processes and regulations, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently and accurately.Responsibilities: Assist with the coordination and preparation of journal entry accruals and adjustments to ensure accurate financial reporting. Oversee and maintain cash flow analysis and forecasts, including bank loan covenant compliance. Conduct month-end account analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts to ascertain their accuracy. Prepare audit schedules for year-end audits or any other audits as required. Compile all statutory reports and ensure timely compliance. Manage fixed assets control and valuation across all ledgers and monitor asset acquisitions and divestments. Support the preparation of data for the annual insurance policy renewal and ensure adequate coverage in line with corporate policy. Prepare the month-end sales reporting package. Act as a key liaison with the corporate Finance Department. Provide backup support to other Accounting Associates as necessary. Coordinate the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts. Ensure correct inventory valuation, inventory reserves, and product standard costs. Undertake any other projects as directed by the Company President or Controller.Requirements Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar Proficiency in Monthly Close procedures Experience with Journal Entries preparation and management Skilled in Cash Flow Analysis and creating Cash Flow Forecasts Expertise in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation Ability to prepare Audit Schedules Knowledge of managing Fixed Assets Experience in Monthly Financial Reporting Proficiency in Ad Hoc Analysis and Ad Hoc Reporting Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field preferred Advanced knowledge in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Knowledge of accounting standards and regulations.
