Role purpose: Ensure timely and accurate performance of all accounting functions required, including payments and control expenses by receiving, processing, verifying and reconciling invoices

Responsibilities and essential tasks:

Prepares financial statements.

Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances.

Charges expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoice/expense reports; recording entries.

Pays vendors by monitoring discount opportunities; verifying federal id numbers; scheduling and preparing checks; resolving purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies and documentation; insuring credit is received for outstanding memos; issuing stop-payments or purchase order amendments.

Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and preparing checks.

Maintains accounting ledgers by verifying and posting account transactions.

Verifies vendor accounts by reviewing monthly statements and related transactions.

Maintains historical records by filing documents.

Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.

Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related tasks as needed.

Key Performance Indicators:

Timely and accurate financial statements

Timely and accurate completion of payments

Required technical skills:

Strong Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Proficiency in QuickBooks, Propertyware, or comparable accounting software package; knowledge of multiple enterprise level accounting software packages is a plus.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, and Outlook

Required education and experience:

Two (2) years of accounting experience

Journal Entry and Balance Sheet Knowledge
