The Director of Philanthropy & Community Relations has responsibility for the organizations overall community engagement strategy including community mobilization, philanthropy, outreach, marketing and public relations.
The Director of Philanthropy & Community Relations is an Exempt, Full Time, Benefits Eligible position reporting to the Chief Executive Officer of the Roanoke Valley SPCA. The position is responsible for supervising the Philanthropy & Community Engagement Associate. The schedule varies, but some evenings and weekends are required. While the primary location is the Roanoke Valley SPCA, work for and travel to Mountain View Humane in Christiansburg is required.
The ideal candidate will have a bachelors degree or related experience; previous leadership in fund development, community engagement and development, marketing and communications; excellent interpersonal skills, strong public speaking and writing skills; a proven experience in managing staff and volunteers and exceptional strategy development and project management skills.
