Coaches in the Rescue Missions Residential Recovery Program seek to develop as a trusted mentor (a different relationship from counseling or sponsoring) with the program participants assigned them, encouraging them and holding them accountable to their Program . Coaches provide supportive encouragement on the road to recovery and development of the whole person: physically, psychologically and spiritually. This responsibility includes holding those they coach accountable for their participation and encouraging their faith development by sharing the love of Jesus Christ.
The successful candidate for this position will be one who is in recovery themselves and has demonstrated at least five years sobriety/clean time. Completion of Peer Recovery Support training is desired; however, this can be provided after employment.

Understanding of volunteer engagement and ability to utilize and appreciate volunteers in daily tasks.
Coaches primary duties will be to hold weekly 1:1 meetings with participants, complete assessments and documentation, facilitate classes, and participate in weekly meetings with the recovery team. Coaches may be asked to to represent the Rescue Mission and the Recovery Program at special events for other agencies or individuals seeking information.
Because all Rescue Mission staff are called to be Christian ministers, living into our mission statement: ("Helping Hurting People in Jesus' Name"), they are also asked to be actively involved in a local Christian congregation of their choice. Our employees do not use nicotine products and are asked to refrain from gambling, maintain healthy, appropriate relationships, and make good financial decisions.
