Summary/Objective
The Estimator II is responsible for conducting accurate quantity takeoffs and estimations from project plans and documents, and constructing estimates utilizing appropriate computer software programs. Responsibilities include preparing preliminary estimates, soliciting vendors, and assisting team members with preparing bid packages.
Essential Functions

Read and interpret pertinent bid documents
Perform material quantity takeoffs from civil construction plans and documents
Assist in developing the project scope and identifying necessary disciplines
Identify subcontractor roles
Evaluate DBE participation to ensure project goals are met
Identify potential constructability issues
Construct project estimates ($1M-$30M)
Work with senior team members to develop bid packages
Attend pre-bid meetings / site visits
Deliver bids
In all tasks, junior estimators must follow project specifications and any relevant confidentiality rules
Supervisory Responsibility
None for this position.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Weekend work may be required on occasion.
Travel/ Driving
Local travel is required. Need to utilize personal transportation.
Required Education and Experience
A high school diploma is required
2-4 years of experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Associates or Bachelors degree in a construction related field preferred
Previous experience as an estimator and industry certifications may be preferred
Previous experience with estimating software such as Heavy Bid and Bluebeam is preferred
