Job Description:
A Dock Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of a dock facility, ensuring the safe and efficient handling of shipments in and out of the facility. They are responsible for managing a team of dockworkers and coordinating with other departments to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily dock operations
Typical work week Monday through Friday 7:00am until 3:00pm
Ensure all inbound and outbound shipments are handled safely and efficiently
Manage a team of dockworkers, providing guidance and training as needed
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
Coordinate with other departments to ensure timely delivery of shipments
Perform regular inspections of equipment and facilities, reporting any issues to management
Maintain accurate records of shipments and inventory
Manage and resolve customer issues and complaints

Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Prior experience in a supervisory role
Knowledge of transportation and logistics industry
Yard Switcher experience or ability to learn
Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety guidelines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
Wage Range: 18.00 - 20.00 per hour
