Cartographic Analyst Apprentice to work in our Springfield, VA office.
Job Description: The contractor shall provide personnel that support the mission of the Maritime Safety Office (SFH). These personnel shall be adept to working in a dynamic, fast pace, team environment supporting critical Maritime GEOINT activities through their GEOINT domain expertise, effective communication skills - written, oral, and the building and delivering effective PowerPoint based presentations. The ability to manage multiple time constrained projects is critical to success.
Must have a TS/ SCI Clearance
1-2 years of feature extraction related experience.
Knowledge of feature data extraction and attribution process.
Knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS and PLTS
Knowledge of basic coordinate systems (latitude and longitude, UTM)
Experience working with geospatial data in a multi-user enterprise environment.
Proficient in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Excel.
Experience in creating shapefiles, geodatabases, and features.
Demonstrated ability to export data in multiple formats, predominantly standard MILSPEC as well as shapefiles.
Demonstrated ability to use imagery for the purposes of nautical chart compilation.
Experience with combining digital cartography, computer technology, GIS, cartographic and geospatial production techniques, remote sensing, and digital data formats.
