The Meadowview Farmers' Guild and Harvest Table Restaurant are currently accepting applications for general farm labor. This is a flexible part-time hourly position helping with ongoing operations of the farm. Hours are flexible.
Job Duties: The Harvest Table Farm is a polycultural farm, growing dozens of different annuals and perennials in support of the Harvest Table Restaurant. The farm operates year-round and has multiple growing beds, three hoop-houses, small greenhouse, and two flocks of chickens. Work is mainly support for vegetable gardening so knowledge and experience with gardening is useful. Work includes all aspects of growing in annual plots and hoop houses for sale to the Harvest Table as well as other local restaurants and farmers markets. This includes planting, tilling, weeding, seedling growing and replanting plants in the greenhouse, plant pruning and other chores associated with small-scale farming.
Qualifications: Experience with farm work, greenhouse duties, horticulture and small animal husbandry would be useful. Familiarity with the Abingdon Farmersâ Market would be beneficial. A willingness to work and reliability are the best skills. A cheerful attitude would be a plus.
The farm is located in Meadowview, VA, so reliable transportation would be required.
