POSITION OVERVIEW DEFTEC Corporation seeks a Research Analyst III to support the Federal Bureau of Investigation, High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group (HIG), Counterterrorism Division. The HIG Research Program serves as the locus for advancing the science and practice of interrogation within the United States Government (USG) and is the only USG program specifically studying the psychological and behavioral science underlying the practice of interrogation. The HIG Research Program is charged with the study and evaluation of whether the interrogation practices and techniques in Army Field Manual 2-22.3, when employed by departments and agencies outside the military, provide an appropriate means of acquiring the intelligence necessary to protect the Nation. Additionally, the HIG Research Program exists to recommend any additional or different guidance for other departments or agencies' (Executive Order 13491), if warranted, and to develop a set of best practices for conducting interrogations. The HIG Research Program achieves its research mission through the development of a multi-faceted and interdisciplinary research program that integrates operations, training, and research. This comprehensive approach is designed to ensure that the HIG Research Program is based upon and provides the most current, informed, and applicable science as a guide to interrogations for HIG members and associated USG entities. The Training Program, Interview & Interrogation Curriculum is the only science-based interview and interrogation training in the USIC. All HIG courses are developed and instructed by HIG trainers, researchers, experienced collectors, and analysts, with a special emphasis on Human Intelligence Operations (Source Operations and Interrogation Operations), in collaboration with professional curriculum designers. The professionally designed training courses are offered to domestic agencies such as the FBI, CIA, and DOD. Internationally, the HIG offers training to allied foreign partners of strategic operational interest, with the goal of improving their ability to collect more and better intelligence while enhancing our key operational partnerships. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Complete tasks given by the FBI Chief Research Psychologist in the administration of the Research Program.

Conduct research protocol reviews, including methods, data collection and analysis, etc.

Set up technical exchanges, meetings, workshops, post-meeting follow up including reports, meeting minutes; and track and execute recommendations and after-actions.

Coordinate calendars of IC and DOD personnel and provide meeting logistics management.

Maintain pre- and post- course reviews and questionnaires.

Assist in critically reviewing and preparing technical documents for IC-wide dissemination and public release.

Maintain a log and repository of publicly released science publication, reports, and briefings. Post and maintain updates on research SharePoint and to IC websites.

Prepare draft taskers to include weekly activity reports, information papers, action memoranda, emails, and other documents.

Maintain broad situational awareness of the social and behavioral science literature and issues in related program & scientific areas.

Monitor, manage and effectively communicate required taskings related to the Institutional Review Board.

Utilize routine computer applications, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet Explorer), Mozilla Firefox and services that operate utilizing these software packages.

Consistently and appropriately apply complex direction, including Standard Operating Procedures and Operations Manual documentation as well as appropriate oral and written guidance received.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required Qualifications:

Proven ability to build relationships and collaborate with employees at all levels of management.

Strong planning, organizational and multitasking skills.

Strong knowledge of training processes, procedures, best practices.

Excellent communication skills, unstructured verbal interactions, briefings, and meeting moderation at all levels of management and employees.

Proficient in technical research, an in-depth knowledge of social and/or behavioral science and technical writing.

Self-starter with demonstrated initiative for both classified and unclassified work environments

Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) in social science, neuroscience, psychology, or other science and technology related subjects.

A minimum of three (3) years of recent and relevant experience.

Experience working independently and with staff in both classified and unclassified work environments.

Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligbility
