Summary This position is assigned to the (MWR) Recreational Lodging program; Fleet Readiness (N92); (CNIC); Naval Weapons Station Cheatham Annex. MWR Recreational Lodging offers accommodations to include Recreational Vehicle (RV) Parks, Vacation Rentals (Cottages, cabins, singles houses, townhomes, duplexes, mobile homes, hotels, apartments, and yurts) and Campgrounds. The purpose of this position is to lead daily housekeeping and custodial operations for the Recreational Lodging program. Responsibilities Upon check out, cleans, sanitizes and deodorizes bathrooms (sinks, tubs, showers, floors, toilets, etc) ensuring that lavatories are properly restocked with all appropriate amenities. Sweeps, dry mops and cleans floors using brooms, mops and commercial vacuum cleaner, cleans windows, sills, walls, woodwork and mirrors. Replaces all bed linens, trash liners, towels, amenities, changes light bulbs as needed and makes beds. Cleans appliances, defrosts refrigerator, cleans, waxes/polishes furniture to ensure cabin/suite is ready for next occupant. Washes, dries, sorts, folds and stores linens. Inventories linen removed along with clean linen issued. Prepares linen report and turns into supervisor, ensuring any linen missing is reported. Completes cabin/suite status report providing status of all cabins/suites (vacant and ready, check-out, occupied, etc.) and turns in report at the end of each day. Informs the supervisor immediately of all discrepancies, equipment malfunctions, damages, customer complaints, maintenance issues, missing items (e.g. TV, VCR, clock radio, pots, lamps, dishware, etc) or valuables left by guests. Properly bags and tags all "lost and found" items with cabin number the item was found in and gives bag to supervisor. Consistently monitors assigned areas for problems: e.g. unusual activity, illegal substances in cabins/suites, unauthorized pets, evidence of smoking in buildings. Leads the work of all assigned Custodial Worker, NA-3566-02. Directs work, answers questions, changes priorities to meeting emergent needs and provides on-the-job training. Ensures workers have necessary supplies and equipment. Reports all discrepancies, supply needs and personnel issues to the supervisor for resolution. Performs other related duties as assigned to meet mission requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Resumes must include information which demonstrates experience and knowledge, skills, and ability (KSAs) as they relate to this position. A qualified candidate must possess: Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, standards, regulations, and administration related to housekeeping and/or custodial operations. Knowledge of cleaning procedures and proper use of cleaning equipment and approved cleaning chemicals, including familiarity with applicable SDS. Knowledge of Recreational Lodging program standards. Skill in basic math. Skill in basic reading. Ability to utilize Property Management System (PMS) and/or Point of Sale (POS) system software to update room status using the in-room telephone system. Ability to accurately complete daily room status reports and housekeeping assignment sheets. Ability to interpret, execute, and document cleaning actions in accordance with Recreational Lodging Housekeeping Manual and program policy guidance. Ability to apply knowledge of general cleaning procedures to complete housekeeping tasks. Ability to safely and properly use common hand and power tools. Ability to apply sound judgment to schedule and prioritize work assignments in order to honor requests for No Service/Do-Not-Disturb while adhering to program standards for in person service follow-up and cleaning frequencies. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing with management, staff and guests. Education This position does not have a positive education requirement.
