We are a ten-year-old specialty wholesale bakery. We specialize in artisan-made cookies and bars made with high quality, locally sourced ingredients. We have a large following for our specialty gluten-free and vegan products. Our Vegan Ginger Cookie might be the best cookie on the planet!
We have established wholesale accounts - café's, coffee stores, specialty grocers--in the central portion of VA. We relocated last quarter to Middletown to grow our business in these same types of accounts in greater Winchester, WVA, Loudoun, Fauquier, PW, Fairfax, DC areas.
That's where you come in: we need a freelance marketer to present our products to local businesses and bring them or board to stock our products for their retail customers and diners.
What will it take to be successful?
First, you have to like our products and recognize that even if you aren't vegan or GF, these are growing markets and plenty of people have been buying them and our original, conventional products for years. Our wholesale clients call us begging for early shipments because they sell out of our goodness!
Second, you have to like people! You have to like approaching people, assessing whom their customers are to see if our products are a fit, and then sharing our product samples with them.
We can give you lots of leads, but the self-starter type who can be successful here will also figure many out on their own.
We'll need you to stay in close contact with the owner so we can together track efforts and route plans for deliveries. That can all be on phone calls.
You need your own transportation. We provide the cookies!
Somebody with strong ties in the local restaurants, cafes, caterers, breweries, wineries, food trucks and farmers markets would be ideal. But a willingness to be enthusiastic about our products is the most important part!
What will actually doing this be like?
You will be a contractor. We will identify target accounts for you to visit. You'll set some appointments to go in and share product samples, pricing, ordering info etc. Sometimes you'll do that on the spot by just going in a place. You schedule things to fit into your schedule.
How much time per week? It's up to you--but we figure 4-8 hours a week will get the job done.
You will start in the greater Winchester/Loudoun/edge of WVA areas. If you are successful and like it you can go into the other areas. We have to follow a delivery route plan.
Will I get paid?? For sure!
We'll offer a weekly fee to cover transportation and onsite visits.
Additionally, you'll get bonuses for bringing on and growing products in new accounts.
AND if I really love Farmer's Markets?? We can have a discussion about you manning booths there and getting a cut of every treat sold!
Other requirements: Clean, approachable, comfortable in your own skin.
