Maintenance Technician

Luxury apartment community in Winchester, Virginia seeks a Maintenance Technician to join the maintenance staff.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring that the physical aspects of the community meet the established standards for safety and appearance.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for complying with company and community operating and safety policies and procedures, and for adhering to federal, state and local laws pertaining to the operation of the community and Fair Housing.

The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

- Diagnoses and performs minor or routine maintenance or repair, as directed, involving the following on a daily basis: Electrical and plumbing, A/C and heating systems, kitchen appliances, stairs, gates, fences, patios, railings, tile, carpet, flooring, roofing, gutters, fasteners, interior/exterior lights, fireplaces, ceiling fans, shutters, doors, cabinets, windows, sliding glass doors, door locks, P.O. boxes and locks, ceiling leaks, walls.

- Inspects vacant apartment and completes a checklist in regard to make-ready which includes painting and any maintenance repairs needed. Completes make-ready units required to meet move in deadlines.

- Removes and transfers heavy appliances and equipment from a storage area to the apartment (or vice versa) as circumstances warrant. Assists in moving abandoned furniture, appliances, etc., to dumpster when necessary.

- Assists in keeping the grounds neat and free of litter. Rake, sweep and shovel as circumstances warrant.

Qualifications: 2-3 years experience in a general maintenance position.

Candidates must have your own basic tools.

Normal Work Schedule: Minimum of 40 hours per week. Weekends as circumstances warrant; on-call -rotating basis and for emergencies
