High school diploma or equivalent required, Prefer college coursework in a medical related field. These may be substituted by year for year directly related experience.
Knowledge of medical terminology is required.Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.Knowledge of Meditech hospital scheduling system is strongly preferred.Minimum Work Experience
Previous hospital scheduling experience preferred.
Previous experience with medical insurance companies' authorizations and referral processes required.
Knowledge/Ability to perform Microsoft applications required.
Previous customer service experience required.
Working knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, Commercial insurance, Blue Cross and HMO payers.
