Design Authority Project Account Engineer

The Design Authority Project Account Engineer (PAE) reports to the Natrium Engineering Process Manager and is given responsibility and authority for the performance management of selected control accounts within the Design Authority organization, and for planning and managing performance of the resources authorized to accomplish such work. The PAE is a project management-oriented role focusing on project performance management. PAE responsibilities include schedule planning and status, cost planning and management, measurement of accomplishment, actual cost collection, variance analysis and resultant corrective action, estimating costs at completion, and risk management. The PAE manages at the control account point where technical scope, schedule, and budget are integrated.

Responsibilities

Responsibility for Cost Account Performance Management, including:

Statusing of schedule activities, including soliciting inputs from engineering staff.

Monitor team performance against the schedule baseline, provide feedback to management, develop plans address areas of underperformance and recovery.

Monitor and analyze cost and schedule variances using the EV data recorded, actual costs, and IMCS data compared to the time-phased budget.

Identify and manage trends, provide input to the trend register and serve as the group representative in the trend register meetings.

Identify, assess, and monitor risks and ensure effective mitigations are established and incorporated into the schedule.

Assists Senior Manager(s) in reviewing and approving assignments and commitments involving the control account, including:

Work with the engineering leads to develop planning inputs and schedules

Organize and conduct management reviews of plans/proposed schedules on a regular cadence.

Monitor and analyze outstanding (external) commitments within the assigned control accounts.

Ensure that actual costs are accurately recorded against the proper charge numbers for work performed.

Lead/drive the planning process for the work scope within the control account

Primary point of contact for interfacing with project controls in the implementation of plans in the IMCS.

Be responsible for Control Account Performance, including:

Assist to develop staffing/resource plans, and maintain and adjust the schedule to be resource leveled.

Our ideal candidate would be proficient with horizontal and vertical alignment design, stormwater/sanitary sewer/waterline designs, utility relocations, coordination with structural engineers and other engineering disciplines, quantity take-offs, specifications, and engineer\'s estimates. Traffic engineering design, including traffic signal and illumination, experience is a plus. The candidate would also be eager to accept new challenges to diversify their skills by not only performing transportation engineering work, but also construction observation, general civil design, and traffic engineering. Finally, a successful candidate will have good interpersonal and communication skills that can thrive in a hybrid in-office/remote work setting. The Design Authority Deputy represents the Design Authority across all areas of the Natrium project. In this role you will provide leadership, guidance, mentorship, creative and technical oversight to multiple teams to ensure a high level of strategic integration.
