As a Program Manager, Transportation Engineering Systems (TESS), you will work closely with Business Analysts and Business Intelligence Engineers to drive data-driven decision-making and use broad technical skills to build analytics and reporting capabilities.In this role, the Program Manager, Transportation Engineering Systems manages transportation network configuration by working with different internal stakeholders and systems, to deliver desired business outcomes. We work at the intersection of business and systems. This role will directly influence the decisions and strategy of TESS by gathering customer needs and insights and mining large and diverse data sets. This position will work directly with business leaders and teams along with various stakeholders to track business goals and initiatives.Key job responsibilities

Define the program (mission, vision, tenets), set objectives, analyze data and drive improvements that are quantified with metrics

Partner with senior stakeholders to build and execute initiatives and roadmaps to achieve business goals.

Quarterly Goal updates

Identify the gaps and pain points in the existing processes and come up with solutions - short and long term

Set up performance management mechanisms and track the partner performance on a day to day basis;

Write reports/documents that detail the progress to leadership on a frequent basis

Operate autonomously; drive forecasts, and handle escalations.

Solve ambiguous problems and proactively identify and mitigate risks (before they become roadblocks)

Engage other Amazon business units globally to share best practices and improve end to end outcomes for Amazon customers

A day in the life

Deep Dive and understand cost parameters in Amazon’s fulfillment systems

Follow up with Business Intelligence Engineers and finance partners on cost parameters settings in system

Identify and document anomalies (anecdotes) with customer order fulfillment

Drive simulations for understanding what-if scenarios with different cost parameters

Contribute to key reviews: lead and drive strategic weekly, monthly, quarterly review on strategic initiatives

About the teamThe Program Manager II for TESS will take charge of a comprehensive project portfolio in collaboration with partners in finance and technology, with the aim of improving speed, optimizing cost, and improving quality of Amazon's delivery network. This role involves setting strategic initiatives for the team, and in partnership with GTS finance, gaining a deep understanding of how cost parameters are integrated into the system. A critical aspect of this position is to clarify and explain the reasoning behind system inputs and the system's operational behavior.We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:Bellevue, WA, USABasic Qualifications

3+ years of program or project management experience

3+ years of defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics experience

Knowledge of Excel (Pivot Tables, VLookUps) at an advanced level and SQL

Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

Preferred Qualifications

3+ years of driving end to end delivery, and communicating results to senior leadership experience

3+ years of driving process improvements experience

Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Experience building processes, project management, and schedules

The base pay for this position ranges from $59,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $142,800/year in our highest geographic market.
