Job Summary
Assists in the administration of the financial/business functions of the agency. Main responsibilities are to verify payroll items prior to submission and to perform various audits/reconciliations of payroll items. Other responsibilities assigned as needed to support the Finance team.
Responsibilities
Serve as backup for certain payroll and finance-related tasks
Audit payroll changes (new hires, wage rate changes, terminations, etc.) are properly recorded and processed, reporting any discrepancies to Finance Director.
Audit benefit earnings and deductions, reporting any discrepancies to Finance Director.
Perform sample audits of employee wages, benefits, deductions, and accruals to test the accuracy of the payroll system.
Verify that all payroll-related items, including garnishments, benefits, and voluntary deductions, are accurate and processed accurately through payroll
Perform sample audits of employee hours, assigned classes, and pay codes to test the accuracy of the time-and-attendance systems.
Requirements
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic proficiency with the following programs:
Payroll database (Paycom experience a plus)
QuickBooks Online
Time-and-Attendance databases (Paycom, SETWorks, Humanity, etc.)
Intermediate to Expert proficiency with the following programs:
Excel
Google products or Office 365
Ability to work accurately with figures and have experience in data entry
Detail oriented, dependable, and able to work independently
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be a team player and be able to multi-task
