The Talbot Group is the manager and developer of Barkley Village, a 250-acre mixed-use urban village in Bellingham, WA. The company has developed a dynamic mix of residential, retail, office, and community assets here over the past 30 years, and now owns and manages a majority of the property in the village. JOB SUMMARY:
The position is responsible for the day-to-day bookkeeping functions required to produce monthly GAAP financial statements for Talbot’s owned or controlled properties throughout Barkley Village.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
General Ledger – prepare monthly bank reconciliations, record monthly adjusting and accrual entries, update fixed asset system for additions and disposals and record monthly depreciation.
Financial Statement – prepare monthly financial statements for multiple properties.
Accounts Receivable – record tenant receipts against monthly charges, process monthly tenant billings and other miscellaneous billbacks, monitor tenant accounts for overages/shortages and past due amounts, remote deposits, or bank deposits, collect and track tenant Certificates of Insurance
Accounts Payable – process payable invoices: review, code and acquire proper approvals, update allocation worksheets as needed, review W-9’s and ACH forms as needed for new vendors, process payments.
Budgets – Assist Sr. Property accountant to prepare property budgets.
QUALIFICATIONS – KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
5+ years work experience in accounting
Accuracy and timeliness in the completion of the workload
Ability to learn different software programs as needed.
Familiarity with MRI and Spreadsheet Server, and ability to create and use pivot tables, formulas, and other spreadsheet functions in Excel are a plus.
Commercial property management experience preferred.
Job cost and contract tracking.
COMPENSATION:
Salary range of $50,000 – $70,000 depending on experience
