75% Time, Temp, Program Coordinator for TL/ESOL

Whatcom Community College invites applications for a 75% Time, Temporary, Program Coordinator (Class Code 107N) for Transitional Learning/English for Speakers of Other Languages in the College's TL/ESOL Office. Reporting to the TL/ESOL Program Support Supervisor 2, the TL/ESOL Coordinator contributes to a variety of TL/ESOL functions and provides support to the TL/ESOL office and the campus community.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

-Assist the daily operations of the TL/ESOL Programs, including responding to inquiries via email, phone and in-person.

-Manage ESOL student assessment process.

-Facilitate intake processes for Transitional Learning/ESOL Programs (ABE, ELL, HS+, ESOL), including processing TL applications.

-Assist with communication regarding student success and retention.

-Assist Program Support Supervisor in managing student data through LACES (Washington state database), Microsoft Teams, and Excel spreadsheets.

-Create and maintain physical and digital student files.

-Assist Program Support Supervisor to maintain/input student data, including quarterly, department, and Washington State reporting.

-Assist new students with CASAS testing, registration, and setting up college network accounts.

-Update and maintain the TL/ESOL program handbook.

-Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

-High school Diploma.

-Two years office experience or equivalency.

or

-Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Verbal and written fluency in an additional language; Spanish preferred.

-Associate degree.

Salary:

-This is a 75% time, temporary, 12 month, classified, WFSE (Washington Federation of State Employees) represented position. Salary is Range 41, starting at Step C, $2,880.00 per month which is 75% of the full-time amount of $3,840.00 per month with periodic increments to $3,578.25 per month which is 75% of the full-time amount of $4,771.00 per month.

Hours and Environment:

-This position is in-person on campus, Monday through Friday, 30 hours per week, primarily daytime hours with occasional evening hours.

Benefits Package:

-The position comes with a full benefit package, including health, dental, life, long-term disability insurance and a retirement plan.

Accrues 75% of 8 hours per month of sick leave and 75% of 11.33 hours per month vacation leave with periodic vacation accrual increases based on longevity.

11 paid holidays (Number of hours paid aligns with work schedule) annually.

1 personal holiday annually after 4 months of continuous employment.

3 personal leave days annually after 4 months of continuous employment.
