Create magical experiences for our tiniest artists (birth-4 years) and their grown-ups. Blend music, movement, and art into multi-sensory adventures where creativity speaks all languages and mess equals learning.
Why Join GAK?
At Gabriel's Art Kids, we believe creativity isn't just something we teach—it's how we transform lives. Our multi-campus organization has become Bellingham's creative heartbeat, where art isn't confined to paper but spills into every giggle, every messy handprint, and every proud parent moment. You'll be joining a team that just pulled off the spectacular return of the Procession
of the Species after six years (1,000+ attendees!), and we're just getting started. We're not just another childcare center—we're building tomorrow's innovators, one finger painting at a time.
Who This Role Is For:
You're perfect for this if you:
● Light up when a toddler shows you their "masterpiece" (even if it's just enthusiastic scribbles)
● Can sing "Wheels on the Bus" with genuine enthusiasm for the 47th time
● Believe that mess equals learning and see paint-covered tables as victory flags
● Have the magical ability to redirect a tantrum into a teachable moment
● Find joy in those breakthrough moments when a shy child finally joins the music circle
● Can channel your inner child while maintaining the authority of an adult
This isn't for you if:
● You prefer quiet, predictable workdays
● Clean clothes are non-negotiable for you
● You think art should stay inside the lines
● You're looking for a desk job or solo work environment
● Sticky fingers and spontaneous hugs aren't your thing
● You believe children should be seen and not heard
The Role:
You'll co-create magical experiences for our tiniest artists (birth-4 years) and their grown-ups, blending music, movement, and art into multi-sensory adventures. Think less "sit still and listen" and more "let's make instruments out of recycled materials while dancing to world music!"
Your Daily Adventure Includes:
Creative Magic Making:
● Design process art stations that make parents go "I never thought of that!"
● Lead sing-alongs that get even the shyest toddlers wiggling
● Transform everyday materials into artistic gold
● Guide sensory experiences that build neural pathways (yes, playing with playdough is brain science!)
Safety & Logistics:
● Master the art of herding cats er, supervising creative youngsters
● Ensure every tiny human gets home safely to show off their daily creations
Community Building:
● Partner with parents to extend creativity beyond our walls
● Help maintain our "organized chaos" aesthetic (emphasis on organized!)
Requirements:
Must-Haves:
● 21+ years old
● Experience with the birth-4 crowd
● Musical abilities (perfect pitch not required, enthusiasm absolutely is)
● First Aid/CPR certification (or willing to get it ASAP)
● Can pass background check and fingerprinting
● Physical stamina to keep up with toddler energy levels
Bonus Points For:
● Background in arts, music, or education
● Experience in after-school or early childhood programs
● Bilingual skills (toddlers are surprisingly good language teachers too!)
● The ability to clean glitter out of anything
What We Offer:
Beyond competitive pay, you'll join a community that celebrates every milestone—from first scissors cuts to confident color mixing. You'll go home covered in paint and filled with purpose, knowing you've sparked creativity that will last a
lifetime.
Our team recently navigated major transitions with grace, and we're building something special here. If you want to be part of an organization that values both professional growth and the sacred art of finger painting, we want to hear from
you.
