Rock & Rye Oyster House is seeking an experienced bartender with ample knowledge of modern craft cocktails and the ability to step onto the floor confidently from day one. Additional wine knowledge and experience in formal wine service is a strong bonus. Our beverage menus rotate seasonally, so there is always something new to taste and learn about. Bartenders are responsible for routinely contributing cocktail ideas and recipes, which are sold as specials and occasionally added to seasonal menus. We also have an exceptionally large and diverse back bar, which requires a strong spirits background. There is abundant opportunity in our restaurant to expand your knowledge, hone your palate, and get creative.

We are a pooled front of house, and the expectation is that all team members are proficient at and routinely work within multiple roles. Should you be interviewed and hired as a bartender, you must also expect to be scheduled for serving or expo shifts. This is a non-negotiable aspect of the position, as the ethos of the service staff is one of collaboration and support.

As far as scheduling, three shifts per week can be guaranteed with the strong likelihood to increase as summer approaches. Tuesday and Sunday availability are a current high priority, and open availability is preferred but not required. Pay begins at minimum wage plus tips.
