At Avenue Bread & Deli we strive to create a strong community, centered around authentic eats for locals and visitors alike. We have become a mainstay in the Bellingham area with over 25 years of providing coffee, pastries, breakfast and lunch to the public. In essence we are a local café chain with 3 locations in Bellingham and one in Lynden.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Catering Coordinator to manage / facilitate catering orders, ensuring seamless communication between customers and our catering staff. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, creativity, and a customer-centric approach to ensure outstanding service delivery.
Hours:
Role starts as part time (20hours per week) with the opportunity to grow into full time (32-40 hrs per week).
We’re looking for:
Min. 1 year of catering or food service experience.
Min. 1 year of leadership experience.
Cooking experience preferred.
Experience delivering food orders.
Sales experience preferred.
Experience with POS systems.
Ability to drive, be insurable and possess a driving record (Driving Record Abstract will be required upon hire).
Excellent communication skills and strong customer service experience required.
Ability to obtain Food Handlers Permit and MAST Certificate.
Responsibilities Include:
Order Coordination:
o Receive and process catering orders from customers via phone & email
o Confirm order details, including menu selections, delivery/pickup times, and special requests.
o Ensure accuracy and completeness of all order information.
Customer Liaison:
o Act as the primary point of contact for customers, providing timely responses to inquiries and resolving any issues or concerns.
o Maintain a professional and courteous manner in all interactions with customers.
Scheduling and Logistics:
o Coordinate delivery logistics with catering team and customers, ensuring timely and accurate execution of orders.
o Communicate delivery/pickup schedules and any special instructions to catering staff.
o Ensure that the bread/pastries necessary for each order are communicated in a timely manner to the bakery.
o Maintain a stock of the goods required for the catering services and communicate with restaurant managers for any special needs.
Menu and Product Knowledge:
o Have a thorough understanding of the catering menu offerings, including ingredients and preparation methods.
o Assist customers in selecting menu items that best fit their needs and preferences.
Documentation and Reporting:
o Maintain accurate records of orders, payments, and customer interactions using our designated systems.
Quality Assurance:
o Conduct quality checks on outgoing orders to ensure they meet our standards and customer expectations.
o Address any issues promptly and escalate as necessary.
Team Collaboration:
o Collaborate closely with catering and other staff, to ensure smooth order fulfillment.
o Provide support and assistance to catering team members as needed.
Wage Range: $19-$22 with tips (DOE)
