Supporting Chef

Supports Direction of Leadership to include Owner, General Manager, Lead Chef and Sales Managers. Assume the role as Lead Chef in his or her absence.

Prepare exceptional cuisine per Banquet Event Order. (BEO) for all operational needs for offsite and mobile kitchen.

Manage all activities in the kitchen in absence of Lead Chef, including food preparation and production, and management and training of kitchen staff

Ensure efficient, cost-effective operation and profitability of food production

Supervise and inspect all preparation and cooking equipment on a regular basis to ensure that they are kept clean, sanitary, and in perfect operating order

Ensure that food products, presentation, and plating are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner according to BEO.

Assure adherence to all standards of food quality, preparation, recipes, and presentation in conjunction with the specifications

Assure kitchen sanitation according to standards of Whatcom County Health Department. Monitor holding and storage operations, stocking and food rotation, and guarantee food service sanitation standards are met

Offer exceptional teambuilding, motivation and education. Ensure kitchen personnel is trained in best practices. Ensure complete, friendly and professional communication with all team members.

Qualifications for Supporting Chef

High school or GED equivalent required, formal culinary training or associate degree in culinary arts preferred

Minimum 3-5 years catering cooking experience in a Fine & Casual dining and experience in a culinary leadership role preferred

Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room employees, and guests.

Food Handlers Permit

Ability to bend, stand, and stoop for long periods of time, and working long hours in hot conditions. Ability to lift 40 pounds.

Ability to work a variety of schedules to accommodate business as contracted. Weekends and/or nights required, possibly some Holidays.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
