Insurance Authorization & Clinical Receptionist Superstar (Bellingham)

Vacancy expired!

When you check in at a clinic and are asked for your copay, do you have to restrain yourself from gently explaining the difference between a copay and co-insurance? Are you the person your friends turn to when they get an EOB (who just read ‘EOB’ without having to think about what that means)? If you were a vigilante, would your superpower be committing acts of kindness and enforcing positivity?

At CorePhysio, we are clinical detectives. We ask questions. We ask more questions. Our therapists have been solving physical therapy puzzles since 2004 to help our clients unleash their awesomeness. It takes a cohesive, diverse, and multi-disciplined team to deliver this high standard of care and service.

You will spend part of your time onstage, greeting and checking in clients, and part of your time offstage, navigating pre-auths. You’ll master a variety of skills, including:

The ability to humble-brag about how well you can navigate an EMR.

Providing customer service (to both patients and clinicians) so exceptional you occasionally receive a standing ovation.

Knowing the ins and outs of insurance benefits so well you accidentally, and successfully, attain a pre-auth while sleeping.

Required qualifications:

Available to work up to 40 hours per week (hours may vary), including some Saturdays.

Previous medical office experience, including familiarity with EMRs.

Bilingual in Insurance Terminology (copays, co-insurance, deductibles, referrals, pre-auths…).

Self-directed, loves to learn and thrives on challenge.

Can multi-task but also recognizes when and how to focus on the most important task at hand.

Professional in appearance and demeanor.

In it for the long haul! We are looking to hire a long-term employee.

Proficient in the standard Office suite of programs.

Desired qualifications:

Insurance Specialist experience with a solid understanding of ICD and CPT codes.

If this sounds like the right fit, kindly reply with your resume, three references, and a cover letter that includes 1) something amazing about you we could NOT learn from a resume and 2) why you’d make a great addition to our team. Applicants who do not submit the required materials will not be considered.

We offer a high-energy, supportive work environment in a lovely clinical setting and a generous benefits package to full-time employees including paid vacation, holidays, medical/dental, 401K, and the potential for growth. Position starts immediately; compensation DOE.

Job Type: Part- to full-time.

Telework eligibility: Eligible, though on-site work is also required.
