Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process for medical services, ensuring accuracy in coding and compliance with regulations. This role requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, coding systems, and the ability to navigate medical records efficiently. The Medical Biller will play a critical role in maintaining the financial health of our practice by ensuring timely and accurate billing.
Duties
Review and analyze patient medical records to ensure accurate billing.
Utilize medical coding systems, including ICD-10 and to assign appropriate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process.
Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries
Maintain organized records of all billing transactions and correspondence.
Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Generating and analyzing A/R reports
Following up on A/R claims
Investigating A/R Denials
Monitoring Payer Performance
Maintaining Accurate A/R Records
Reviewing 30-60-90+days
Qualifications
Proven experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred.
Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding (ICD-10), and billing systems.
Familiarity with medical records management and medical collection processes.
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
Certification in medical billing or coding is a plus but not required.
