As CHCC’s unit secretary, you will answer phone calls at the nurse’s station in a pleasant, professional manner. You’ll make appointments for residents, assist with record keeping and support the efficient and accurate flow of information and communication to all members of the team.
Job functions:
Answer the telephone and/or questions at the nurse’s station as able, and triage to the appropriate individual as needed.
Stock and maintain station office supplies and forms.
Scan records into charts daily.
Monitor exit doors for exit-seeking/wandering residents.
Audit resident records and processes as needed.
Check the calendar and appointment slips to prepare resident envelopes in advance of medical appointments.
Make appointments for residents per nursing request. Schedule transportation, inform families/resident responsible person(s), and
record appointments on the calendar.
Enter admission medications on PointClickCare (PCC).
Take resident photos, print, and enter them on PCC.
Perform mailing, delivery, pick-up and filing of medical record information.
Prepare and distribute reports.
Assists with nursing staff scheduling on the weekends.
Answer resident call lights as able.

Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Working knowledge of basic medical terminology is required.
A working knowledge of HIPAA and state guidelines regarding confidentiality of all medical records is required.
Experience or exposure to long-term care is preferred.
Current Washington state nursing assistant certification (NAC) is preferred.
Skills and traits:
Knowledgeable and supportive of CHCC mission and philosophy.
Self-directed and ability to work independently.
Proficient with various computer software including Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure with frequent interruptions.
Must be a team player with the ability to maintain a positive attitude and commitment to supporting nursing staff with the focus of
providing excellent resident care.
Work schedule: 24 to 32 hours per week, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., mostly weekdays with regular weekend rotations.
Compensation:
$22.50 to $25.40 per hour, DOE.
Sick time accrual
Holiday pay (double) if scheduled to work on major holidays

Vacation accrual (for part-time employees who work 20–29 hours per week)
