Whatcom Community College invites applications for a Classified, Non-Permanent Human Resources Consultant Assistant 2 (Class Code 123F) in the College's Human Resources/Payroll Office. Reporting to the Human Resources Consultant 3, the HRCA2 contributes to a variety of HR and payroll functions and provides support to the Human Resources/Payroll Office and the campus community.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

-Serve as main reception point of contact. Welcome guests in a professional, friendly manner.

-Punctual and regular attendance.

-Provide HR/Payroll customer service and expertise. Direct inquiries regarding a variety of HR/Payroll functions including payroll, recruiting, benefits and leave to the appropriate person.

-Oversee new employee paperwork for part-time hourly, student employees, and volunteers. This includes the completion of W-4/I-9 forms, background checks, and providing HR policy guidance as needed.

-Correspond with supervisors to ensure a seamless onboarding process.

-Process new employee profile information into college CTCLINK Human Capital Management system.

-Provide support in a variety of recruiting tasks.

-Perform HR record-keeping tasks, which include intake and processing HR forms.

-Monitor and update employee records within college’s ctcLink system.

-Receive, sort and distribute incoming mail and packages as well as prepare and manage emails.

-Other related duties and special projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

-High school graduation or equivalent.

-Two years of full-time clerical experience.

-Demonstrated proficiency in office technology, in particular Excel and Word.

or

-Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Human resources experience.

-Excellent verbal and written interpersonal communication skills.

-Experience providing customer support in a fast-paced environment.

Salary & Appointment:

-Range 42, full-time classified salary starting at Step C $3,700.00 per month.

-This is a 6-month, non-permanent, full-time position with possible extension based on operational needs for an additional 3 months to a 9-month total term.

Shift and Working Conditions:

-Position's shift is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

-Works on WCC Campus.

-Accrues 8 hours per month of sick leave and 9.33 hours per month vacation leave with periodic vacation accrual increases based on longevity.
